Bullying
October is National Bullying Prevention Month. We learned about how to recognize bullying, the different types of bullying that can happen, and how to be an Upstander by speaking up when someone is being bullied. Kindergartners enjoyed reading the book "One" by Kathryn Otoshi and learning about how it only take one person to make a difference!

Growth Mindset/ Power of YET!
Having a growth mindset means believing in the power of yet! We always want to remember that having a growth mindset allows us to do so much more than having a fixed mindset. Kindergarten is working on changing "I can't do this" to "I can't do this...YET" by using their growth mindset to take on any challenge or learn something new! The book "Giraffes Can't Dance" was an excellent example of wanting to do something that you can't do yet and using different ways to accomplish your goals!
Gratitude
We have so many things to be grateful for! Kindergarten talked about the people, places, things, and events in their lives that mean a lot to them and we practiced how to show gratitude! Students loved the watching a video with a fun song and filling their "Gratitude Jars" with all of the things they are grateful for!
